Mental Health Counselor Position

This position is open to either an associate counselor working towards licensure or a licensed counselor. Soon to be graduate students are invited to apply. The hourly wage is based on level of experience.

We are a small, close-knit counseling practice with a team that values serving people (of all ages) to improve their lives.

The practice has openings for 1 or 2 counselors (in the Spokane area) to offer in office and/or telehealth (a hybrid is possible) counseling to individuals and couples (multiple ages are served at Life’s Learning). The position can be part or full time. It also can include weekends or evenings (if this is something the clinician is interested in). There is flexibility within the mission and needs with the practice.

For part-time clinicians, the expected billable hour is 15-21 hours. It is a possibility to work less or more hours as well. For very part-time work, the minimum requirement is 15 hours direct service. A full-time clinician is expected to bill 22-25 hours minimum. Life’s Learning nurtures a sound practice, balancing both hard work and personal life needs and wants.

There is a wage for both direct and indirect service hours. The direct service wage ranges from $40-$60 per hour, depending on level of experieence.   Raises are considered at 6 months, 1 year (annually after this) and with outstanding performance.

Life’s Learning also has an option for counselors to practice independently and pay for particular services such as rent, billing and supervision, while being a part of the Life’s Learning group. This is a new offering being developed, so reach out to Suzanne with more detail if interested.

Responsibilities include: Direct client care (individual, group, couples, family), diagnostic intake, treatment planning and paperwork, case management, attendance at practice supervision meetings or offerings, while also being a team player with back-up for vacation time with team members and various other options. There must be a willingness to be a part of a team that gets together for gatherings and to assist with needs for the interns on staff. We are looking for counselors to join our team, who want to set a strong, committed foundation with the practice And avoid unhealthy workplace behaviors.

Benefits: Associate counselors are paid 1 hour of supervision per week.   Medical, dental and vision plans available. 6 holidays paid at 4 hours per day.  Training subsidy and 4 vacation days after being employed 4-6 months.  Flexible scheduling.  Working in office and telehealth.  

Requirements: Master’s Degree. Licensed or Associate Licensed Mental Health or Marriage and Family Counselor.  At least 1 year experience.  Graduate students completing a CACREP program or equivalent are invited to apply.
