Mckenzie (Mac) Woolley

Marriage & Family Counseling Intern (Gonzaga)

I see therapy as a collaborative process of healing and growth that allows for positive transformation. I see greater connection to self (our mind, body, soul and emotions), others and our surroundings as a path toward this healing and growth. I hope to help you create greater awareness and new patterns of emotions, thoughts and behaviors to support your unique goals. I work with people of all ages (kids to elders), abilities, and backgrounds, including couples, partners and families. 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and relationships are celebrated and affirmed in my practice.

I understand that every individual has their own innate ability to heal and that sometimes this ability can get stuck due to trauma (our body’s natural response to physical/mental/emotional wounds). Through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, I can help you unstick those memories and wounds to allow your brain and body to reprocess those experiences in a helpful way so that they interfere less with your day to day life and you are able to thrive. As a student I am continually learning and growing and for now, I tend to pull from Relational-Cultural Theory, Existential Theory and Experiential Therapies, such as Somatics and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).

I am currently pursuing my MA in Marriage and Family Counseling at Gonzaga University. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care from Eastern Washington University, where I gained education and experience with grief and end-of-life/chronic illness issues.

I have a vast background in outdoor education, where I facilitated personal growth and leadership development in individuals and groups (ages 3-70+, across varying abilities and backgrounds), including skills such as self awareness, conflict resolution/communication, and navigating adversity and uncertainty. While leading wilderness expeditions, I supported students through fear, anxiety, suicidal ideation, systemic oppression, experiencing/perpetrating sexual misconduct, grief, life transitions, and navigating relationships. These experiences will allow me to serve you with empathy, compassion, curiosity, and courage.

I am honored to get to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing, growth and connection in yourself and your relationships.
